La Villa Bagatelle

An exceptional house gives birth to a new concept of Hotel-Museum.
Villa Bagatelle is a 1900 bourgeois mansion nestled within two hectares of English-style parkland. It is officially listed on the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments for the quality of its architecture and its exceptional state of preservation. It stands out as one of the very few properties of its era in the Lyon region to have retained its parkland, outbuildings, interior layout, and original decorations almost completely intact. As such, it offers our guests a life-sized glimpse into the family homes and refined art of living of the late 19th-century upper bourgeoisie.

Bagatelle provides the ideal base for both leisure and business travel near Lyon and Vienne. We are conveniently situated close to Saint-Genis-Laval, Pierre-Bénite, Brignais, Vernaison, and Charly, as well as Solaize, Feyzin, Saint-Priest, Saint-Fons, Vénissieux, and Chaponnay, making it one of the most delightful places to stay south of Lyon. It also serves as an excellent stopover along the Via Rhôna cycle route or whilst travelling towards the south of France (within easy reach of the A7/M7/E15).

Hôtel-Musée: A New Concept

Our vision is to open the doors of a Historic Monument to offer you the most authentic immersion possible into a 1900-1930 world. Come and spend a night or a few days surrounded by the spaces, materials, atmospheres, and everyday objects of early 20th-century France. We have taken meticulous care to preserve a maximum of original and period features, restoring them with the utmost attention to detail to recapture their former glory. At Bagatelle, the old once again becomes the stunning novelty it was at the time of its creation.
Villa Bagatelle is located in Irigny, just ten minutes south of Lyon, within the Rhône department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
