La Chambre de Madame
A CHANGE OF SCENERY AWAITS YOU!
Refinement, comfort, spaciousness, and heritage

Your Room: 42 m², facing east and south, featuring an entrance vestibule, a walk-in wardrobe, a bathroom with a large bath-shower, a terrace, and a balcony.
The Lady’s Chamber is undoubtedly one of the most exquisite rooms in the entire house – dedicated to well-being and the elegance of the lady of the manor. Generously sized and bathed in natural light, the room is decorated in soft beige and blue tones, inspired by Louis XV style and reimagined by Belle Époque decorators. It boasts a sophisticated design, with magnificent and imposing mouldings adorning the ceiling nearly four metres above the polished oak parquet floor.
A polished brass and sculpted white marble fireplace complements the floral garland wood panelling above the French windows. The walls are draped in contemporary scrolling-patterned fabric. Within the wardrobe, adorned with golden fabric and facing the window, is a refined dressing table. The bathroom echoes the intimate spirit of a 1900s boudoir – with wood panelling, its own fireplace, decorative glass tiling, and two mirrors – one 18th-century and one Art Nouveau – playing with the abundant light pouring in through the grand French window.
Traditionally, the Lady’s Chamber was always paired with a spacious terrace. Madame Juppet commissioned a 30 m² terrace to the east. Before the trees of the park reached maturity, one could glimpse the banks of the Rhône, the hills on the opposite shore, and even the Alpine range. Today, as a subtle nod to the industrial fervour of the early 20th century, the distant silhouettes of the production sites of France’s second metropolis now appear between the trees. To the south, a large balcony opens onto the park and the plane tree terrace.
La Villa Bagatelle, listed as a Historic Monument, is among the very first Hotel-Museums. Four years of meticulous restoration have brought back its charm and vitality. Numerous elements have been repaired, upcycled, or reconstructed with utmost respect for the original materials and techniques.
